A nationally acclaimed dining and entertainment concept coming soon to downtown Allentown plans to hire 100 new workers to help operate the venue.
Sports & Social, 645 Hamilton St., is slated to open on the ground floor of Two City Center sometime this spring. The space previously housed The Hamilton Kitchen & Bar, which closed in December.
The 8,000-square-foot space is part of a collection of venues by Live! Dining & Entertainment, which also operates Xfinity Live! and Live! Casino & Hotel in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. Live! Dining & Entertainment is one of the largest and most successful developers and operators of restaurant and entertainment concepts nationally, a news release states.
Positions include managers, servers, bar backs, bartenders, hosts, bussers, line cooks, dishwashers and prep cooks. Xfinity Live! representatives say pay is competitive and schedules are flexible. Employees also will enjoy such perks as meal discounts, team referral bonuses and advancement opportunities.
Xfinity Live!, starting on Monday, is opening a Hiring Center at 21 N. Seventh St., Suite 3, on the Allentown ArtsWalk. Walk-in job applicants are welcomed, and in-person interviews will be available with potential on-the-spot hiring. The hiring center will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday. Facial masks are recommended while indoors.

Tony Monaco, vice president of operations for Live! Dining & Entertainment, said in a statement Thursday the company is seeking “positive, high-energy” employees who will provide “impeccable guest service.”
The Allentown venue plans to feature live music and entertainment throughout the week and offer premier sports-watching experiences. It’s set to be outfitted with state-of-the-art audio visual technology and an LED display at its centerpiece, allowing patrons to enjoy multiple games and sporting events simultaneously.
Additionally, an expansive patio on Center Square across from PPL Center will provide outdoor space for dining al fresco. The menu is expected to include made-from-scratch, game-day favorites; curated cocktails and specialty drinks; and a beer selection of local and national brews.
Sports & Social is set to join an eclectic mix of downtown dining options, including Fegley’s Allentown Brew Works; Brü Daddy’s Brewing Co.; blended by Brü Daddy’s; and Tacos Y Tequila.
