Allen’s new entertainment Hub will include 10 new restaurants – The Dallas Morning News

One of Allen’s largest mixed-use developments has broken ground on the next phase of the project.

At 135 acres, The Farm on State Highway 121 is planned to include offices, retail and restaurants and housing.

Construction has started on an almost 3-acre open-air entertainment venue called The Hub.

Located at Alma Drive and S.H. 121, The Hub will include 23,000 square feet of restaurant space, 5,200 square feet of event lawn space, a 13,000-square-foot plaza and a 15,000-square-foot, two-story dining pavilion.

The entertainment center, which has its first location near Seaside, Fla., will open late this year. DAG Architects designed the project.

“As a suburban concept designed for family and friends, we think The Farm in Allen is a perfect location for The Hub’s brand of good, clean excitement,” Brad Zeitlin, founder and CEO of The Hub, said in a statement. “Our uniquely curated dining options and daily entertainment can only be found at The Hub.”

The Hub is already fully leased to 10 restaurant concepts. The venue will program free daily entertainment, including live music, outdoor movies and sports watch parties.

The Hub will create about 100 jobs.

“Our goal is to bring new and unique experiences to The Farm in Allen, and The Hub will do just that,” Bruce Heller, president of JaRyCo, which is developing the Allen project, said in a statement. “The Hub will be a great amenity just a short walk away for everyone living and working at The Farm, as well as everyone living in the surrounding neighborhoods.”

Announced in 2020, The Farm in Allen is planned to have 1.6 million square feet of office, 142,000 square feet of retail, a 150-room hotel, and 60,000 square feet of restaurants, townhomes and residential units.

There will also be a 16-acre greenbelt, a 2.5-acre lake and boardwalk, pocket parks and trails.

“The Hub will be a great entertainment destination not only for city residents but also for companies seeking a project that offers their employees walkable options for lunch and dinner,” Daniel Bowman, executive director of Allen Economic Development Corp., said in a statement. “The Hub adds a vibrant gathering place in a first-class mixed-use center, and we are excited to begin development on The Farm in Allen.”

The construction start on The Hub follows last month’s groundbreaking for a 325-unit rental community on a site next door. Atlanta-based apartment builder Wood Partners is building the Alta at The Farm apartment community, which will open early next year.

Homebuilder Ashton Woods is also constructing more than 100 townhomes in The Farm that will be priced from the mid-$300,000s.
